 About the Role:

As a podcast producer, you have a strong pulse on Arab culture and trends, and you’ll be pitching and executing non-fiction stories relevant to Kerning Cultures. You’ll work closely with the editor and managing producer across multiple Kerning Cultures Network shows. You’ll handle episodes from pitching/concepting to interviewing, cutting tape, writing scripts, and working with our sound designer to create final mixes. Sometimes you’ll take the lead on production, sometimes you’ll help other producers with their stories. Occasionally, you’ll help produce branded podcasts for clients as well. This position is part-time, 2-3 days a week.

Location: Based in the Middle East

Skills & Experience:

-Experienced in long-form, in-depth, intuitive storytelling and production (in script-form and/or on-radio)
-Journalism background (audio journalism is preferred, but film or print is welcome)
-Pitching and writing scripts, as well as cutting tape with Adobe Audition or similar audio editing software
-Audio production and comfortable handling audio equipment
-Comfortable working with a remote team and implementing creative feedback/direction
-Comfortable in delivering scripted & unscripted narration to tracking
-Experienced with interviewing for narrative-driven media

Bonus Skills:

-Bilingual in Arabic & English
-Basic photography & video skills (iPhone+)
