Razan Alzayani is a visual journalist based in Dubai. For the past few years, podcasts have transformed her mundane work commutes and many airport transits into fascinating educational experiences. This is her first attempt at delving into the curiously magical realm of radio. Razan is co-founder and executive producer for KC.
Hebah Fisher studied Global Development and built microfinance and incubation programs for small businesses in the US and the Gulf. Currently based between Dubai and Seattle, Hebah is co-founder and business director of KC.
Alex Atack grew up between the UAE and the UK. He moved back to Dubai to work as a freelance documentary and editorial photographer after graduating from Photojournalism in the UK. Many of the awesome photos you see on this site are by him. Alex is a producer for KC.
Dana Ballout is a Lebanese-American reporter working for The Wall Street Journal in Beirut. She fell in love with podcasts in 2011 and dreams of one day reading the credits on Radiolab. Dana is a producer for KC
Alexandra Chaves is a multimedia journalist and writer based in Dubai. She has spent more than half of her life in the Middle East after moving from the Philippines at a young age. Storytelling has always been a big part of her life, from writing poetry as a child to becoming a journalist in her twenties. Now she explores the world of audio storytelling with KC as one of the show’s producers.
Lilly Crown studies Arabic and Teaching English as a Second Language at the University of Virginia. This choice often surprises others as she is from a tiny town in coastal Virginia, but after falling in love with Arabic language and culture following her time in Oman and Jordan, she is constantly reminded of the need to storytell KC-style. Lilly is KC's intern extraordinaire.
Bella is an Egyptian-American Art Director by day and a Gender Studies MA student by night, based in New York. Her interest lies in the (r)evolution of Middle Eastern-American culture, and how it impacts gender roles. She loves to create and promote content that speaks to the in-between complexities of Middle Eastern culture. Bella runs the marketing for KC.
Jacqueline (“Jackie”) Sofia is a freelance photographer and storyteller based in the Middle East. She credits her father, who refused to turn off NPR's "Morning Edition" on the car ride to school, for inundating her thoughts with the week's news hosted by Carl Kasell. 18 years and several countries later, she refuses to turn off the radio. Jackie is a producer for KC.
Percia Kazemi Verlin grew up in a mixed race and religion family united by a love for each other and national public radio. She studied international relations in college while pursuing independent podcasting projects before interning for Radiolab in 2016. Percia is now based in NYC, and is excited to be producing for Kerning Cultures.
Palestinian blood, Emirati software and inquisitive mind and soul. Ahmad Zeid has an executive Master’s in management and is passionate about knowledge entrepreneurship and everything science. If free, he translates history into Arabic, and he wants to share his hours of reading through an Arabic voice in podcasting. Ahmad is a producer for KC.
Ghenwa Hakim is a Lebanese-American attorney living in Boston, with much of her heart in the Middle East. With degrees in law, international relations and public health she spends her professional life listening to people's stories as she advocates for individuals and communities. Ghenwa is the legal advisor for KC.
